ZDF Studios has licensed a pair of crime series to Mediaset España, which has acquired exclusive free-TV and non-exclusive SVOD rights for the dramas in Spain and Andorra.

The deal includes seasons 17 to 19 of SOKO Leipzig, produced by UFA Fiction. Set in eastern Germany, the drama follows an ultra-committed and highly professional homicide squad made up of the fatherly leader Hajo, the ambitious Ina, the handsome cop Jan and the characterful Patrick.

The agreement also comprises seasons one through eight of Heldt—A Date with Justice. Produced by Sony Pictures Cologne, the modern crime drama features a rogue detective who always gets his man.

Susanne Frank, Director Drama at ZDF Studios, said: “Both of these series are long-running for a reason. They are skillfully crafted stories with engaging characters that have provided hours of entertainment for many audiences across Europe and beyond, and I’m delighted that they can now be enjoyed by Spanish viewers.”
