ZDF Studios has closed a host of sales throughout the CEE region, including a 1,000-hour volume deal with TV2 Hungary.

The TV2 Hungary deal sees the two companies renew their partnership for another four years and sends titles such as Alpine Rescue, The Mountain Medic, Betty’s Call, Hide and Seek, Voltaire in Love and Grow to Hungary.

All Media Baltics (TV3 Group) signed a volume deal for romantic TV movies and series, including Rookies and A Case of Murder.

Poland’s Romance TV and Bulgaria’s NovaTV renewed their output deals with ZDF Studios for another four and three years, respectively, with both picking up hundreds of hours of TV movie collections.

The free-to-air Croatian broadcaster NovaTV licensed a mix of TV movies and crime and family series such as Marie Brand, Never Too Late for Justice, Disappeared—the MPU and The Mountain Medic in its volume deal with ZDF Studios.

ZDF Studios continued its business in Hungary with Network 4 and MTVA, the latter of which acquired the rights to Bron, Boundless and Dr Ballouz.

Further deals were made with Poland’s Canal+ for Chain Reaction, HRT Croatia for Queens of Mystery and London Kills, and Georgia’s free-to-air channel Rustavi 2, a new client, for a range of content.

Mirela Nastase, Director Drama for ZDF Studios, said: “I’m delighted that the numerous partnerships we have built over the years in CEE means our content is widely seen by audiences throughout Central and Eastern Europe. And we look forward to 2023, when ZDF Studios will be introducing even more exciting new programming to our valued clients in these countries.”
