In this video interview, we hear from MISTCO’s Ayşegül Tüzün about what makes this show stand out in the international marketplace, producer Emre Konuk talks about the challenges of producing historical drama and lead actors Bugra Gülsoy, Ekin Koç, Mehmet Özgür, Gürkan Uygun, Hatice Şendil, Sevda Erginci and Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu discuss their characters.

MISTCO has found much success in the international marketplace with its slate of historical dramas. The Great Seljuks: Guardians of Justice (Uyanis Büyük Selcuklu) follows in this tradition.

From producer Akli Film and broadcast on TRT, the drama has been a ratings leader on Monday nights in Turkey. “With an incredible cast, strong story and great setting, the series is a visual feast for audiences,” says Tüzün, managing director of MISTCO.

The story takes place in the Melikşah period. Melikşah was the leader of the state at that time, and he has to leave his son Sencer for the sake of the state. While the story of when this secret will be revealed flows in the background, the audience watches Sencer’s war with both Batiniyya and Byzantium at the behest of Melikşah.

“The Great Seljuk period is a very rich period in terms of story, so we can say that one of the reasons why this drama makes an impact in the world is the production quality,” Tüzün says. “The series offers an epic journey blended with love, secrets and struggle.”
