When Calls the Heart Gets Sixth Season on Hallmark

Hallmark Channel has ordered a sixth season of the original prime-time drama series When Calls the Heart.

Based on the book of the same name by Janette Oke, the series stars Erin Krakow (Army Wives), Lori Loughlin (Fuller House, 90210), Daniel Lissing (The Last Resort), Jack Wagner (The Bold and the Beautiful), Pascale Hutton (Sanctuary) and Kavan Smith (Supernatural). It is currently in its fifth season, which is seeing ratings growth.

“Most series experience a ratings decline with age, but When Calls the Heart is bucking that trend thanks to our devoted fans who elevate the show to new levels each year,” said Michelle Vicary, executive VP of programming and network publicity at Crown Media Family Networks. “The compelling storytelling combined with our captivating cast keeps our viewers engaged and enthusiastic about the saga of Hope Valley, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to continue the journey in season six.”
