The global drama streaming service Walter Presents has hit 100 million streams in the U.K., where it first launched on Channel 4 and its streaming service All 4 nearly four years ago.

Per an analysis by the service, French series are performing best in the U.K., attracting almost 18 million views. Coming in second are series from Belgium, which include 13 Commandments, Tabula Rasa and Professor T. The first Scandinavian country on the list of favorite countries of origin is Denmark, which comes in at number 5, netting nearly 11 percent of total views. The biggest hit on the streamer this year, however, is the Dutch series The Adulterer.

The premiere on Channel 4 of Walter Presents’ German-language launch series Deutschland 83 quickly became the highest-rated foreign-language drama in U.K. TV history. Since then, the brand has rolled out in the U.S., Australia and a number of European countries.

Walter Iuzzolino, co-founder and curator of Walter Presents, said: “I always knew British audiences would appreciate great drama regardless of where in the world it originates from and I also knew they wouldn’t be frightened by subtitles. But, if I’m honest, even I could never have dreamed the British would have embraced foreign-language drama quite as eagerly as they have done.”
