Banijay Rights has licensed the crime drama Viewpoint to public broadcasters across the Nordics, as well as to ABC in Australia.

Pubcasters SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), NRK (Norway) and DR (Denmark), as well as commercial broadcaster Sýn in Iceland, have acquired the five-part drama starring Noel Clarke (Bulletproof, Star Trek Into Darkness). Australia’s ABC also acquired Viewpoint ahead of its U.K. premiere on ITV on April 26.

Viewpoint is based on an idea by Fleabag and Emmy Award-winning director Harry Bradbeer (Killing Eve, No Offence), co-created and written by Ed Whitmore (Safe House, Manhunt) and directed by Ashley Way. It is produced by Tiger Aspect in association with Unstoppable Film and Television for ITV.

Claire Jago, senior VP for the Nordics at Banijay Rights, said: “I’m thrilled that Viewpoint will get to reach such a wide audience; the Nordics are typically avid crime drama fans, and I know this gripping new series will not disappoint.”

Dallas Krueger, head of acquisitions for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, added: “Viewpoint delivers strong characters and a taut, suspenseful script. We are confident that our ABC audiences are going to be gripped by this quality drama.”
