Video Interview with Into the Badlands’ Daniel Wu

NEW YORK: Daniel Wu, the star of Into the Badlands, talks to TV Drama about the new drama series, which recently debuted on AMC in the U.S.

Daniel Wu is a big movie star in Hong Kong, with a list of credits that includes acclaimed turns in That Demon Within and New Police Story. The U.S.-born actor made his American drama series debut in November on AMC’s Into the Badlands, which is loosely based on the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West.

The show, distributed by Entertainment One Television International, stars Wu as Sunny, a fierce warrior in a post-apocalyptic future who embarks on a journey to escape “the Badlands.” Renowned martial-arts director Huan-Chiu Ku choreographed the show’s epic fight scenes, which, as Wu explains, were certainly a challenge to put together amid television’s tight production schedules.
