USA Network Renews Queen of the South

UNIVERSAL CITY: USA Network is bringing back Queen of the South for a second season, with Natalie Chaidez (12 Monkeys) signing on as showrunner.

The drama is based on the novel La Reina Del Sur by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. A co-production from Fox 21 Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions, the series will air its season-one finale on September 15.

Chaidez was executive producer for Syfy’s 12 Monkeys and is known for her work as co-executive producer on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Heroes. Her other credits include consulting producer on USA’s Necessary Roughness and In Plain Sight.
