UNIVERSAL CITY: Universal Cable Productions (UCP) has entered into an overall deal with seasoned USA Network executive Jackie de Crinis to develop and produce projects for the studio.

Under the agreement, de Crinis will serve as executive producer for Eyewitness, the Norwegian crime drama being adapted for U.S. television by Adi Hasak. The show, which kicks off production this week, is slated to begin airing on USA Network later this year. de Crinis will leave her position as executive VP of original programming at USA Network this week. In that role, she oversaw the development of such series as Mr. Robot, Royal Pains, Suits, Psych and Playing House, and helped launch the Emmy-winning hit Monk.

Earlier in her career, de Crinis served as VP of drama at ABC. She also worked for 20th Century Fox and TriStar.

“Jackie is an exceptional talent and has developed some of the most iconic shows on television,” said Dawn Olmstead, the executive VP of development at UCP. “I look forward to bringing her insight and experience as a producer to our team. We are fortunate to have her.”

“I’m thrilled to join Universal Cable Productions and to continue to be an extension of the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment family,” added de Crinis. “I am so proud of the work we have done over the last 16 years at USA, but I have always wanted to produce my own projects. The time was finally right.”
