Acun Medya has acquired the adaptation rights to Unauthorized Living, originally aired in Spain as Vivir sin permiso, from Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group.

The Turkish iteration, Yetkisiz (w.t.), marks the second adaptation of the format. It will broadcast on TV8, and Mediterráneo will distribute the series outside of the territory.

Scriptwriter Gokhan Horzum (Cukur The Pit, Baba Our Father) and director Volkan Kocaturk (Dilek Tasi/A Father’s Promise, Mahkum/Hidden Truth) will lead the adaptation. Executive producer Esat Yontunç will oversee the entire adaptation process.

Unauthorized Living first debuted on Telecinco in 2018 and found international success in its second window on Netflix. In the first half of 2023, it remained one of the most-watched Spanish series on Netflix. An Italian version premiered on Canale 5 in 2022 under the name Il Patriarca.
