Doctor Who Christmas Special Set for U.S. Theaters

NEW YORK: BBC Worldwide North America has clinched a deal with Fathom Events that brings the Doctor Who Christmas special to theaters across the U.S. on December 27 and 28.

Doctor Who: The Return of Doctor Mysterio will air on BBC America on Christmas Day. The two-night theatrical run will include the 60-minute special as well as two bonus specials featuring appearances by stars Peter Capaldi and Matt Lucas, and showrunner and executive producer Steven Moffat. The event is expected to show in nearly 400 movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network.

“The Return of Doctor Mysterio will be an excellent way for fans to celebrate the holidays in true Whovian style,” said Soumya Sriraman, executive VP of franchise and digital enterprises at BBC Worldwide North America.
