TV Asahi Outlines ATF Offering

Leading TV Asahi Corporation’s offering for ATF is the new sci-fi comedy Just a bit Espers, centered on a divorced man who gets a job where he must live in company-provided housing and live as the husband of a stranger.

Just a bit Espers, written by hitmaker Akiko Nogi and starring popular actor Yo Oizumu, is distributed globally on Netflix and consistently ranks among the top domestic dramas in Japan,” says Takamitsu Tagami, who works in live action, variety shows and sports sales in TV Asahi’s international business department.

Another title on the slate, Masked Ninja Akakage serves as a live-action adaptation of a manga. It is directed by filmmaker Takashi Miike and stars Taiki Sato.

“In addition to our latest titles Just a bit Espers and Masked Ninja Akakage, we plan to promote fresh drama titles such as the popular Emergency Interrogation Room series, which will conclude with its final theatrical release on December 26,” Tagami says.

“On the anime front, we will introduce two major upcoming titles for next year—Akane-banashi and Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia,” Tagami adds.

Akane-banashi follows a woman pursuing her dream through rakugo storytelling and is “sure to become an inspiring series that captivates audiences worldwide.”
