Turkish Drama Heart of the City Heads to Malaysia

Eccho Rights has secured deals for Heart of the City and Insider in Malaysia.

The Ay Yapim-produced Heart of the City will become the first-ever Turkish drama on the national pubcaster RTM later this summer. Further to the deal in Malaysia, Eccho Rights has locked in new sales for the series in Israel (Dori Media), Lithuania (LNK), Angola (Zap) and Bulgaria (BTV).

“We are very excited by this development and see the Malaysian market as a big opportunity for Turkish drama,” said Nixon Yau Lim, the head of Asia Pacific at Eccho Rights. “There is already a strong core of fans in the region enjoying Turkish series through subscription services, but with RTM bringing Heart of the City to national, free-to-air television, we expect the genre to flourish even further.”

Insider has been picked up by Malaysia’s Astro. The series is also from Ay Yapim.
