Trio of Drama Renewals at TNT

ATLANTA: TNT has renewed the drama series The Librarians and Murder in the First for third seasons and Major Crimes for a fifth run.

The fantasy-adventure The Librarians has been commissioned for a 15-episode third season that will kick off next fall. The season two finale is set for December 27. Based on TNT’s movie franchise, the series centers on an ancient organization dedicated to protecting the world from a secret, magical reality that’s hidden all around. The series is produced by Electric Entertainment, with executive producers Dean Devlin, John Rogers, Marc Roskin and Noah Wyle.

Major Crimes is currently airing on Monday nights at 9 p.m. through December 21 and will return with new episodes to round out its fourth season in February. The show follows a unit of LAPD detectives that specialize in high-profile crimes. The fifth season will be comprised of ten episodes, set for a summer 2016 premiere. It’s produced by The Shephard/Robin Company and Walking Entropy, in association with Warner Bros. Television. James Duff, Greer Shephard, Michael M. Robin, Rick Wallace, Adam Belanoff and Leo Geter serve as executive producers.

The third season of the crime drama Murder in the First, about a pair of San Francisco detectives who investigate tough crimes, will also debut next summer. The series is produced by TNT Originals, with Steven Bochco serving as executive producer.
