TNT Pilots John Wells Mystery Thriller

ATLANTA: Turner’s TNT has ordered a pilot for The Deep Mad Dark, which comes from Animal Kingdom‘s John Wells and Megan Martin.

The Deep Mad Dark is being produced by John Wells Productions and Fabrik Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television and Turner’s Studio T. The atmospheric mystery thriller examines the complexities of female friendship. The pilot is written by Martin (Animal Kingdom, Cult), who also serves as executive producer, along with Wells (ER, The West Wing, Animal Kingdom, Shameless), Fabrik CEO Henrik Bastin (Bosch, The Comedians, American Odyssey) and Kristen Campo (The Killing, The Good Guys).

The Deep Mad Dark marks Wells’ fourth project with TNT, his first being Southland. Earlier this year, Wells and Martin helped usher in the first of TNT’s new breed of drama with the hit series Animal Kingdom.
