Spectrum Originals is set to launch The Holiday, a thriller based on T.M. Logan’s best-selling book, on June 30.

The Holiday follows a family on a dream vacation that quickly turns into a nightmare, as dark secrets trigger fears of betrayal. Produced by Projector Pictures, Clapperboard Studios and Night Train Media in association with All3Media International, The Holiday was adapted for TV by Michael Crompton (Silent Witness, Safe House, Ransom).

In the four-part series, Kate (Jill Halfpenny) discovers that her husband is having an affair with one of her best friends, which sees the holiday take a turn as she tries to bring the truth to light. Shot in and around Malta, in addition to Halfpenny, The Holiday stars Owen McDonnell, Lara McDonnel and Aidan McArdle.

The series is distributed globally by All3Media International. It has been acquired by Disney in a pan-territory deal covering the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg and by Nordic streamer Viaplay, where it is currently available in Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden. BBC Studios has also acquired the four-part series for Australian audiences, and TVNZ has taken the series in New Zealand.
