Through an agreement with Embracer Group’s Middle-earth Enterprises, Amazon Games will develop and publish a new massively multiplayer online (MMO) game based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.

Embracer Group has entered into an agreement to acquire Middle-earth Enterprises, a division of The Saul Zaentz Company that owns, among other IPs, the rights related to The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.
