Eight public-service broadcasters from northwestern Europe—ZDF (Germany), NPO (the Netherlands), VRT (Belgium), SVT (Sweden), DR (Denmark), Yle (Finland), RÚV (Iceland) and NRK (Norway)—have come together to form New8, a collaboration that will see the pubcasters sharing drama series.

Christian Rank has been tapped to head up the drama department at Danish public broadcaster DR, replacing Piv Bernth.

CANNES: BBC Worldwide has secured presales for the eight-part drama The Collection, which is launching at MIPTV, in Sweden and Denmark.
