SynProNize Lines Up African Content Deals

Dubai-based SynProNize has secured deals from its drama slate in Africa with eTV, Onua TV and StarTimes.

eTV licensed the romantic drama series Piya Naam Ka Diya (All for Love), which centers on a simple girl who falls in love with the wrong man without seeing the true love that was right in front of her. It takes viewers on her journey of discovering her feelings, her goals and finding a balance in life.

The drama series Cello, an Arabic production that aired on MBC in the Middle East, was licensed to Onua TV in Ghana. In the story, a cellist and her pianist husband are unable to start their life-long dream business project, and an unscrupulous businessman steps in with an indecent proposal—the couple finds themselves torn between integrity and their desire for money.

The African pay-TV platform StarTimes picked up two dramas from the SynProNize slate: Swaragini (A Tale of Two Sisters) and Gathbandhan (The Odd Couple). Swaragini follows the life of two half-sisters bought up witnessing the fierce rivalry of their family, especially their grandparents. Gathbandhan is the story of two opposites: a gangster and a police officer and how their lives intertwine. These shows were originally in Hindi and broadcast on Colors in India.
