Swamp Thing Live-Action Series in the Works for DC Digital Service

A script-to-series order has been given for the one-hour, live-action drama Swamp Thing at DC Universe, the upcoming DC digital service that launches later this year.

In the series, CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus and develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland, only to have him tragically taken from her. While powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets and that the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

The show is being targeted for a 2019 launch, only on DC Universe. Atomic Monster is producing in association with Warner Bros. Television. It is based on characters from DC created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson.
