Superhero Drama Supergirl Heads to Sky 1

LONDON: Sky 1 in the U.K. is slated to begin airing the new superhero drama series Supergirl, from exec producer Greg Berlanti, later this month.

Supergirl is made by Berlanti Productions (The Flash, Arrow) in association with Warner Bros. Television. Based on DC Comics characters, the action-packed show stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El, who is the cousin of Superman. The series is sold around the globe by Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution. It will premiere on Sky 1 on October 29 at 8 p.m.

Adam MacDonald, the director of Sky 1, commented: "I am delighted to announce Supergirl is coming to Sky 1. We've already seen in the success of The Flash and Arrow that comic-book characters are a big hit with our customers, and with this fresh, fast-paced new series, we're giving them another sure-fire superhero smash."
