LONDON: Studio Lambert has optioned the television rights to Scilly Police Sergeant Colin Taylor’s memoir from Jonathan Sissons at the Peters Fraser and Dunlop literary and talent agency.

Taylor will act as a consultant and executive producer during the development of the project as a prime-time TV series. In The Life of a Scilly Sergeant, Taylor shares his perspective of life on the isolated Isles of Scilly, an archipelago off the tip of Cornwall. Taylor’s memoir offers a view of life in the small community as he tackles his duties, including attempting to solve the mystery of a kidnapped goldfish and calling for the return of the island’s supply of traffic cones in preparation for a Royal visit.

Susan Hogg, Studio Lambert’s head of drama and president of scripted programming, said, “We are beyond thrilled to be dramatizing this wonderful book. Working with Colin is a delight. His witty observations on life on Scilly are eccentric, engaging and above all hugely entertaining. Colin’s unique take on the world is incredibly funny and The Scilly Sergeant will translate into terrific drama.”

Taylor added: “To know that such a prestigious production company is so keen to dramatize my book and life through the eyes of Scilly Sergeant is incredibly exciting. I’m over the moon.”
