Stranger Things Returning in 2025

Netflix has confirmed that Stranger Things will be returning for its fifth and final season in 2025.

The series debuted in July 2016 and became one of Netflix’s most popular television series ever, with its fourth season alone reaching over 140 million views globally.

Stranger Things was created by the Duffer Brothers and serves as a love letter to the ’80s classic genre films. It is set in the seemingly normal Midwestern town of Hawkins, Indiana, where a boy vanishes into thin air, launching his close-knit friends and family into a search for answers that pulls them into a high-stakes supernatural adventure full of top-secret government experiments and a powerful, sinister realm.

The series has garnered over 70 awards worldwide, including various Emmys and the Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. It has been nominated for more than 230 awards.

Though season five will be the final season of the series, additional projects in the universe are in the works, including Stranger Things: The First Shadow live on stage in London’s West End and coming to Broadway in 2025, as well as an untitled animated spin-off.
