STARZ Casts Crime Drama Fightland

The lead cast of the new STARZ crime drama Fightland includes Howard Charles (Top Boy, Whitstable Pearl) and Nicholas Pinnock (Hedda, For Life).

Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror) is set to direct the first two episodes, and Sebastain Thiel (Supacell, Dreaming Whilst Black) will direct others. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is an executive producer through his banner G-Unit Film & Television.

The cast will also feature Deborah Ayorinde (THEM, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue), Charles Babalola (The Outlaws, Black Mirror), Anita-Joy Uwajeh (Vampire Academy, Atlanta), Tahirah Sharif (The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Tower), Tyler Conti (The Gentleman, Tell Me Everything) and Richard Pepple (The Hack, Gangs of London).

Fightland follows a disgraced, formerly incarcerated boxing champion who returns to London to seek vengeance against the crime family he thinks betrayed him.

Alongside Jackson, executive producers include Francis Hopkinson (Wallander, Bancroft) and Kate Leadbetter (Woman in White, Catherine the Great) of Expanded Media, which will also produce. The series also reunites STARZ with Damione Macedon (Power, BMF, Genius: MLK/X) and Raphael Jackson Jr. (Power, BMF, Genius: MLK/X), who will serve as showrunners, executive producers and writers. Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith are additional executive producers and writers.
