Spotlight: ZDF Studios’ Top End Bub

Top End Bub, an eight-part romance series from Goalpost Pictures that builds on the success of the feature film Top End Wedding, is among ZDF Studios’ topline offerings for MIPCOM.

Following the box-office hit Top End Wedding comes the heartwarming, romantic series Top End Bub. Filmed in Australia’s Northern Territory and Adelaide, the series revisits Lauren, a dynamic Indigenous lawyer achieving life goals in Adelaide. She’s married to Ned, a handsome husband who bakes fresh croissants. What more could a person need? However, after Lauren’s 8-year-old niece becomes an orphan, the couple reluctantly abandon their big-city dreams and move to the Top End (where the outback meets the tropics) to raise the child. As Lauren and Ned juggle the responsibilities of becoming unexpected parents and try to keep their marriage together, Lauren must also come to terms with her cultural responsibilities as she transforms from an individualist to the linchpin of her family.
