FremantleMedia International has licensed three drama series, including Hard Sun, to SKY New Zealand for its SoHo channel.

From author Neil Cross (Luther), Hard Sun is set in contemporary London, following as two detectives stumble upon proof that the world is facing certain destruction while investigating a murder. Starring Jim Sturgess (The Way Back) and Agyness Deyn (Sunset Song), the six-part thriller is set to join SoHo’s lineup in February.

Also included in the deal, the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods will make its New Zealand television debut. The eight-part series is also set to join the February lineup. Later in the year, SoHo will welcome the adaptation of Joan Lindsay’s novel Picnic at Hanging Rock, starring Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones). It was originally commissioned by Australian broadcaster Foxtel and is currently in post-production.
