Shudder Slates Black Lake, Jordskott Season Two

The Scandinavian Noir mystery Black Lake is set to premiere on Shudder on December 21, while season two of the international thriller Jordskott arrives on January 18, 2018.

Black Lake—produced by Jarowskij, a Banijay Group company—will premiere on Shudder in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Germany and Austria. The series is set in a remote and neglected ski resort that has been closed for years, after having been the scene of a horrific crime. The show was the most viewed series when it aired on MTG’s free-TV channel TV3 in 2016.

Season two of Jordskott will premiere on Shudder in the U.S. and Canada. The series features tough police detective Eva Thornblad (Moa Gammel), who returns to her old job in Stockholm in an attempt to put the haunting events that occurred in Silverhojd behind her and begin a new chapter.

“With a passion for genre across provocative thrillers, suspense entertainment and horror, we’re delighted to expand Shudder’s offering of compelling foreign-language genre series,” said Shudder’s VP of global acquisitions and co-productions, Aurelie de Troyer. “Following its huge success in Sweden, Black Lake takes a fresh and ingenious approach to Scandi Noir, while Jordskott offers an alternative take on the crime drama phenomenon with a captivating second season. The Shudder team is excited to bring these two fantastic series to our members.”
