Showcase to Air The Girl in the Woods

Showcase is set to broadcast the new Peacock original supernatural drama The Girl in the Woods with two back-to-back episodes weekly.

Produced by Crypt TV and based on its short film The Door in the Woods, the series sees teenage runaway Carrie guard a mysterious door that keeps monsters at bay in a cult-like colony. The episodes will air on Showcase beginning November 7.

The Girl in the Woods cast includes Stefanie Scott (Insidious: Chapter 3), Misha Osherovich (Freaky) and Sofia Bryant (I Am Not Okay with This), among others.

Jane Casey Modderno (The Birch) serves as head writer of the all-woman writing team. Director of the first four episodes is Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), with Jacob Chase (Come Play) directing the last four.

Crypt TV CEO Jack Davis and COO Darren Brandl serve as executive producers. Co-executive producers are Casey Modderno, Ritter, Jeremy Elliott and Jasmine Johnson.
