Prime Video Slates The Chosen Season 5

Prime Video has slated the premiere of The Chosen: Last Supper, the fifth season of The Chosen, for June 15 in the U.S.

The eight episodes of the new season will air in three parts over three weeks, with the first two bowing on June 15, followed by three on June 22 and three on June 29. The season follows as Jesus shares one last meal with his closest followers while religious leaders scramble to silence his growing influence.

In the shadows, however, Judas makes a deal that seals both of their fates forever.

Jonathan Roumie returns as Jesus, alongside Shahar Isaac as Peter, Paras Patel as Matthew, Elizabeth Tabish as Mary Magdalene, Noah James as Andrew, George H. Xanthis as John, Abe Bueno-Jallad as Big James, Vanessa Benavente as Mother Mary, Luke Dimyan as Judas, Richard Fancy as Caiaphas, Paul Ben-Victor as King Herod and Andrew James Allen as Pontius Pilate.

The Chosen: Last Supper made its theatrical debut on March 28 in the U.S. and on April 11 internationally, grossing nearly $60 million and counting. Later this month, parts two and three of The Chosen: Last Supper will be released in theaters in the U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

After premiering on Prime Video in the U.S. on June 15, the new season will debut on the platform in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, sub-Saharan Africa, the U.K. and Latin America in July.

The Chosen is produced by 5&2 Studios and written, directed and produced by Dallas Jenkins. Earlier this year, Amazon MGM Studios inked a first-look, multi-faceted deal with 5&2 Studios that provides streaming rights to the first five seasons of The Chosen and the new unscripted series The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls for Prime Video. The pact also includes theatrical and streaming rights to The Chosen’s upcoming final two seasons, which will follow the crucifixion in season six and the resurrection in season seven.

Lionsgate handles global distribution for The Chosen and The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls.
