Prime Video Slates La Liberación Debut

Prime Video has slated the exclusive global premiere of La Liberación for January 17.

The series, created and directed by Alejandra Márquez Abella (El Norte Sobre el Vacío, A Millones de Kilómetros), follows three women who join forces to prevent an allegation of sexual harassment against a renowned film director from being made public. The controversial mission leads them to the doors of a group that makes them embark on a journey to a medieval village where their patriarchal wounds are represented.

La Liberación seeks to serve as a deep and precise reflection of the post-#MeToo world by following the story of brave women who, in a constantly changing world, try to find their place and their voice.

The cast is led by Ilse Salas, Cassandra Ciangherotti, Johanna Murillo, Dolores Heredia, Ofelia Medina and Diego Boneta.

The seven-episode series is directed by Márquez Abella, Dariela Ludlow and Gabriel Nuncio. It is written by Márquez Abella, Jimena Montemayor Loyo, Arantxa Luna, Manuel Alcalá and Aura García-Junco. It is made in collaboration with Prime Video and Fifth Season.
