Prime Video has ordered a second season of Maxton Hall—The World Between Us from UFA Fiction.

Based on the second novel in Mona Kasten’s Save You trilogy of books, the new season will see Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten reprise their roles as private school students James Beaufort and Ruby Bell, who become unwittingly tied together despite being from completely different worlds.

The first season of Maxton Hall—The World Between Us bowed on May 9 on Prime Video and became the most-streamed title on the platform in Germany and has ranked first in the German Prime Video charts since its launch day.

The series begins with Ruby witnessing an explosive secret at Maxton Hall, which leads to the arrogant millionaire heir James trying to buy her silence. The two are forced to deal with each other from then on. Though they come from very different worlds, they soon risk everything to be together.

Maxton Hall–The World Between Us shows once again that local stories have the power to captivate global audiences,” said James Farrell, VP of international originals at Amazon MGM Studios. “Following the French original Medellín and Spain’s Culpa Mía and Reina Roja, Maxton Hall–The World Between Us is the next success from Europe that will inspire a global audience. We can’t wait to bring the second season to customers.”

Maxton Hall–The World Between Us tells a universal story of love between two people from different worlds that has excited viewers around the world,” commented Philip Pratt, head of German originals at Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video. “We can”t wait to start production on the new season and continue telling the story of Maxton Hall–The World Between Us.”

“While we started off as a local production for the German market, Prime Video first built enthusiasm for our project internally and then shared it with the world,” added Ceylan Yildirim, producer at UFA Fiction. “We are overwhelmed by the euphoric reactions from all over the world for our first season and very grateful that we can continue to tell Mona Kasten’s moving love story. The cast, crew and we are very excited and ready for season two!”
