NEW YORK: Playground has promoted Scott Huff and Elyse Dolbec as part of the company’s strategy to expand its television activities in the U.S.

Huff has been elevated to the post of senior VP of development and production, adding his new responsibilities to his existing work in New York overseeing Playground’s slate of U.S./U.K. TV co-productions. He also oversees the company’s work on Broadway.

Dolbec steps into the role of director of development and production. She will work alongside Huff on all television and theater endeavors.

Series currently in development under Huff and Dolbec include The System, exploring the world of college football, for Starz. Alongside Playground’s U.K. team, Huff and Dolbec are working on the contemporary dramas The Kills, a conspiracy thriller for BBC and Starz; Chimerica, a four-hour miniseries; and The New Odyssey, based on the new book by award-winning journalist Patrick Kingsley.

Huff is an executive producer on the limited series The White Princess for Starz. Dolbec is an associate producer on The White Princess. She is also assistant producer for Playground on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

“Building on our great relationship with Starz and the critical success of shows like Golden Globe and BAFTA winner Wolf Hall and the Emmy-nominated The Missing, Playground is poised to expand its television activities in the U.S.,” said Colin Callender, the company’s founder. “Scott and Elyse are wonderfully talented executives and their combined experience and great talent relations developing and producing Wolf Hall, the critically acclaimed BBC/Starz The Dresser starring Anthony Hopkins, as well as co-productions like The Missing, The White Queen and the upcoming The White Princess makes them the perfect team to spearhead Playground’s expansion into domestic scripted drama.”
