Phoenix: Eden17, an adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s Phoenix: Nostalgia manga, is set to debut after seven years of production on September 13 on Disney+.

In the series, Romi and her partner George flee Earth for a new start on Eden17, only to find it is nothing more than a desolate frontier incapable of supporting human life. Romi enters her malfunctioning hibernation pod and awakens 1,300 years later in a city built by her son Cain’s descendants, where she is treated like a queen but feels desperately alone.

Phoenix: Eden17 features the voices of Rie Miyazawa (The Moon, The 13 Lords of the Shogun), Yosuke Kubozuka (Sin Clock, Long Love Letter), Honoka Yoshida (Dai Byoin Senkyo) and Issey Oagata (Picu, Ishiko and Haneo: You’re Suing Me?). It is directed by Shojiro Nishimi (Tekkonkinkreet, Mutafukaz) and produced by STUDIO4℃.
