Pepe Huertas has unveiled his new Madrid-based production company Tres Vacas, which will be focused on developing scripted series with a global reach.

“Our aim is to conceive relatable stories capable of engaging with the audience from the first minute, based on in-depth character development that allows us to construct long and strong narrative arcs,” said Huertas, founding partner and managing director of Tres Vacas. “We become closely involved in our productions from start to finish in order to accomplish high-quality series.”

At Tres Vacas, Huertas is joined by writers and showrunners Pilar Nadal and Felipe Mellizo, whose credits include Médico de Familia (Family Doctor, 1995-1999), Compañeros (1998-2002), Periodistas (1998-2002), Un Paso Adelante (One Step Forward, 2002-2005), Águila Roja (Red Eagle, 2009-2016) and, more recently, Parot and El Cid, which are both available on Amazon Prime Video.

Huertas’s 30-year career in the TV industry has included stints at Spanish broadcasters Antena 3 and Canal+ and the production company Globomedia, which is now part of The Mediapro Studio.
