Paramount+ Orders A24’s Discretion to Series

Paramount+ has given a straight-to-series order for A24’s legal thriller Discretion, with Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning attached to star.

The eight-episode drama, adapted from Chandler Baker’s fictional short story, is being written by Baker. Kidman and Fanning are executive producing through their Blossom Films and Lewellen Pictures banners, respectively.

Baker is also an executive producer, as are Susannah Grant (Erin Brokovich, Unbelievable); Blossom Films’ Per Saari; Lewellen Pictures’ Dakota Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward; CUT TO’s Joe Hipps; and Linden Entertainment’s Jordan Cerf.

Discretion tells the story of Lenny, a summer associate at a prestigious Dallas law firm who uncovers a web of NDAs masking a dark truth. When she realizes she signed the same agreement, her discoveries put her in the crosshairs of the firm’s most powerful female partner, Sharon.

The series marks one of the first original productions under the new leadership of Cindy Holland, chair of direct-to-consumer, and Jane Wiseman, head of originals for Paramount+.

Production will begin in 2026 and eventually launch on Paramount+.
