Nippon TV’s time loop drama series Rebooting has begun streaming on Netflix in various countries throughout the Asia Pacific.

The series follows a 33-year-old woman who gets hit by a car, dies and finds herself in a white room where a clerk files her death and guides her toward a door to her next life, where she would be a giant anteater. If she declines that choice and chooses to re-live the same one she had as a human but works harder to gain extra points by doing better, she will again be reincarnated as a human.

When she dies again and faces the same process, she finds out that she is not the only one going through multiple reboots of life.

The series is written by Japanese comedian Bakarhythm. It originally aired on Nippon TV from January to March 2023 and went on to receive Nippon TV’s record-making number of views on VOD throughout the year. Due to viewer demand, Nippon TV re-aired the full ten-episode series in December 2023 and made it available on TVer for a limited time.

Now, Rebooting is available to watch on Netflix in Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and many more countries in southeast Asia. Netflix is already streaming the series in Japan.

“It is the perfect timing for viewers in Asia to view the long-awaited hit series Rebooting on Netflix, after its victories with many major awards,“ said Keisuke Miyata, head of finished sales at Nippon TV. “I have no doubt that this amazing time loop series will surely surprise Netflix audiences throughout AsiaPac.”

Rie Sawaoka, director of content at Netflix Japan, added, “It is our pleasure to bring the Japanese hit series Rebooting to our AsiaPac-based audience. We are extremely proud of our ongoing collaboration with Nippon TV and to be able to introduce the award-winning Japanese drama to the wider viewers outside of the country.”
