New Netflix Heist Drama from Ridley Scott

Netflix has lined up the new original series Jigsaw, which counts Ridley Scott among its executive producers and Giancarlo Esposito among its cast.

The action-packed heist drama takes an innovative nonlinear approach to storytelling in a way where viewers are in control. It centers on the largest heist ever attempted, and the vengeance, scheming, loyalties and betrayals that surround it.

Jigsaw is loosely inspired by a real-life story where $70 billion in bonds went missing in downtown Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy. The series is currently filming at Netflix Studios: Brooklyn, making it the first production at the company’s new Bushwick studio.

Esposito will star alongside Paz Vega, Rufus Sewell, Tati Gabrielle, Peter Mark Kendall, Rosaline Elbay, Jai Courtney and Niousha Noor.

Eric Garcia (Matchstick Men, Repo Men, Anonymous Rex) is creator, showrunner and executive producer. Jose Padilha (Elite Squad) will direct the first two episodes. Scott, David W. Zucker and Jordan Sheehan will executive produce on behalf of Scott Free Productions, along with Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Justin Levy of Automatik Entertainment, as well as Russell Fine.
