New Deals for A+E Networks’ SIX

NEW YORK: A+E Networks has signed new agreements in China, Germany, Israel and Spain, among others, on the military drama SIX.

Produced by A+E Studios in association with Weinstein Television for HISTORY in the U.S., the show has clinched new deals with iQiyi and BesTV in China, Tele 5/Tele Munchen in Germany, OTE Cinema 1 in Greece, Skirus/365 Media in Iceland, YES/DBS Satellite Services in Israel, Lightbox in New Zealand, HBO Poland, and Nitro and Neox in Spain, among others. This follows agreements announced in October with HBO Europe (Central and Eastern Europe), HBO Nordics, HBO Spain, iflix (Southeast Asia) and HISTORY feeds in Southeast Asia, Latin America and Canada.

The six-episode drama ranks as the number one new basic-cable series in total viewers in the U.S. and has been renewed for a second season. Patrick Vien, executive managing director for international at A+E Networks, said: “Its superb storytelling, talented cast and high production values are what make this series incredibly unique and premium. International program buyers have been quick to recognize these qualities and sign up to bring this compelling series to their audiences.”

SIX was created and written by William Broyles and David Broyles and features a cast that includes Walton Goggins and Barry Sloane. It was inspired by the real missions of Navy SEAL Team Six.
