New Broadcast Partners Sign Up for Sherlock

BBC Studios has secured new international partnerships for the hit drama Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

Amazon Prime Video has taken non-exclusive global SVOD rights for all four seasons of Sherlock and the special The Abominable Bride, excluding the U.S., Australia and Greater China. In China, all four seasons will be available exclusively on Tencent Video.

The Japanese broadcaster Mystery Channel picked up the exclusive pay-TV license for seasons one through four for its AXN Mystery channel to air starting in April.

In Russia, Sherlock will have a new and co-exclusive SVOD home on the online cinema and movie database Kinopoisk (Yandex).

Cosmote secured exclusive pay-TV and non-exclusive SVOD rights for the series and special in Greece. RTVE in Spain picked up non-exclusive FVOD rights for its RTVE Play service.

Non-exclusive agreements have been signed with CBC Gem and BBC First in Canada. The streaming service Stan continues to be the Australian SVOD home for the series.
