Nevision has expanded its footprint with the opening of an office in Spain, headed by writer and producer Tim Parfitt.

The new office will develop scripted series in Spanish for local and global audiences. Parfitt joins the company after a career as a publisher, journalist and producer. He has experience working in Spain, having served as CEO of Ediciones Condé Nast and director general of Prisma Publicaciones (Grupo Planeta).

He is also the author of The Barcelona Connection, which is in development with Nevision for the screen.

Parfitt will work with Nevision’s founder, James Cabourne, at the new Barcelona office. Three projects are already in development, two of which are with Spanish director and writer Roger Gual (Smoking Room, 7 Años, Remake, Tasting Menu).

Nevision also has offices in Los Angeles and New York, and its sister company Nevis Productions has offices in Stockholm and Copenhagen.

In separate news, Anni Faurbye Fernandez, founder, co-owner and CEO of Nevis Productions, has joined Nevision’s board with immediate effect.

“Having established ourselves in the U.K. and U.S., as well as working in close collaboration with our sister company in Scandinavia, launching an office in a key territory in mainland Europe was the next logical step for Nevision,” Cabourne said. “Spanish-language drama is respected and viewed worldwide, and the opportunity to create our own series as well as remaking successful international dramas in Spanish is very exciting. We are also delighted to welcome Anni to the board to help navigate our continued expansion.”

Parfitt added, “The opportunities for Spanish-language drama have proliferated over the last 12 months, and we are excited by the possibilities for our content both locally and globally. To have the hugely respected Roger Gual partnering with us on our first two projects is a great coup, and we look forward to working with him as we develop our slate of projects.”
