LONDON/COPENHAGEN: Indie producer Nevision and Danish production outfit Good Company Films are co-developing a new drama series, Midnights, for the global market.

Good Company Films is headed by Ole Søndberg and Anni Faurbye Fernandez. Søndberg is best known for starting Yellow Bird Films and for producing such international successes as the Swedish and English versions of the Wallander series, the U.S. version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the Millennium trilogy based on Stieg Larsson’s novels. The ten-part drama Midnights is a political thriller set in a present world, about Nordic immortals who discover that they are dying amid the emerging Cold War in the Arctic.

Created by Anna Reeves, the series will be produced by Stinna Lassen and Vibeke Windeløv with Søndberg and Fernandez executive producing.

About Premium Content (APC), which is financially backed by Nevision, will help on the sourcing of presales and will handle international distribution for the series outside Scandinavia.

Søndberg said: “Nevision and APC have an astute understanding of global drama, making them the perfect partners for our upcoming drama series. We look forward to working with them on Midnights.”

Laurent Boissel, CEO of APC, said: “Nevision and APC together are able to offer to the best independent drama talents like GoodCo a bespoke studio-like solution where the producer’s independence and creativity are fully preserved.”

James Cabourne, executive chairman of Nevision, added: “GoodCo is a very exciting new company with a team that has an amazing track record in creating and producing quality drama which resonates with a global audience. The success of Wallander is testament to this and we are excited to be partnering with GoodCo on Midnights. We are also very pleased that APC has played a key role in the project.”
