Netflix’s Spanish teen drama Elite has been renewed for an eighth season ahead of its season seven premiere later this year.

Season seven is set to debut on October 20, with Omar Ayuso returning after being absent for season six. Mina el Hammani is set to reprise her role for season eight, which will also welcome Ane Rot (Killer Book Club) and Nuno Gallego (UPA Next) to the cast.

El Hammani plays Nadia, who moved to New York with Lu for university in the season three finale. She promised her boyfriend she would come back for him, but their long-distance relationship didn’t work out and they broke up early in season four.

Season seven will see the return of Nico’s fling Sonia, played by Nadia Al Saidi, who recurred in the previous season. New additions to the cast for the upcoming season include Mirela Balic (Zorras), Fernando Líndez (SKAM), Gleb Abrosimov, Iván Mendes (Estoy vivo), Alejandro Albarracín (+ de 100 mentiras), Maribel Verdú (Now & Then) and singer Anitta.

Elite’s eighth season will go into production in August.
