Netflix Unveils Three New Italian Originals

Netflix has announced three new original series from Italy, including an adaptation of the novel Fedeltà by Marco Missiroli.

“Italy is a cradle of great storytellers and amazing talent, and our aim is to find those unique and very local voices that could resonate with TV lovers everywhere,” said Kelly Luegenbiehl, VP of international original series for Europe and Africa. “This new crop of projects are all very different and will all be shot across Italy. We’re deeply committed to the Italian creative community—and to the creative vision of the content creators we’re working with.”

Indiana Production’s Curon is a supernatural-tinged series about a woman who returns to her mysterious hometown village with her teenage children. Cattleya’s Tre metri sopra il cielo is a YA reboot of the hit film. Fedeltà, based on the Marco Missiroli novel, is set in Milan and Rimini and explores desire and betrayal.

Other Italian originals for the platform include the film Lo Spietato, three original stand-up comedy specials, the second season of Baby, Fandango’s Luna Nera and a live-action Winx Club.
