Netflix has unveiled the cast for Chris Chibnall’s The Seven Dials Mystery, an adaptation of the Agatha Christie book of the same name.

BAFTA Rising Star winner Mia McKenna-Bruce (How to Have Sex, Persuasion) will lead the cast as Bundle, a young, determined sleuth. Joining her will be Helena Bonham Carter (One Life, Nolly) and Martin Freeman (The Responder, Black Panther).

The series takes place in England in 1925. It begins at a lavish country house party, when a practical joke appears to go murderously wrong. The inquisitive Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent is left to unravel a chilling plot that will change her life.

The adaptation, penned by Broadchurch creator Chibnall, is being executive produced by The Crown executive producer Suzanne Mackie through her company Orchid Pictures and Chris Sussman (Good Omens). Other executive producers are Chibnall, through his company Imaginary Friends; James Prichard, through Agatha Christie Limited; and Andy Stebbing. Chris Sweeney (The Tourist, Back to Life) is attached to direct.

The Seven Dials Mystery is the first series to go into production with Orchid Pictures and is set to begin filming this summer.
