Netflix Slates Premiere for Original Spanish Series Valeria

Valeria, a new Netflix original Spanish series, is slated to make its worldwide debut on the streaming platform next month.

Based on the novels by Elísabet Benavent, Valeria tells the story of a writer in crisis because of her novels and her troubled marriage. Taking refuge in her three best friends—Lola, Carmen and Nerea—Valeria deals with a whirlwind of emotions about love, friendship, jealousy, infidelity, doubts, disaffection, secrets, work, worries, joys and dreams about the future. The series premieres on Netflix on May 8.

Diana Gomez leads the cast of Valeria in the titular role. Ibrahim Al Shami, Maxi Iglesias, Silma López, Paula Malia and Teresa Riott also star. The series is directed by Inma Torrente and Nely Reguera. María López Castaño, who created the series alongside Aurora Gracià, Almudena Ocaña and Fernanda Eguiarte, wrote the adaptation. It is produced by Plano a Plano for Netflix.
