Netflix to Launch Japanese Original Followers Globally

Netflix is giving a global launch to the Japanese original Followers, which is the first drama series directed by Mika Ninagawa (Diner, No Longer Human), in February.

Followers is an original story that depicts Tokyo as a vibrant city full of life, color, ambition and fashion. It centers on fashion photographer Limi Nara (played by Miki Nakatani), who has built a career capturing the evolving people and city of present-day Tokyo, and aspiring actress Natsume Hyakuta (played by Elaiza Ikeda), who struggles to find her identity and self-confidence. Everything changes when Natsume finds instant fame from Limi posting a candid photo of her on Instagram.

The nine-episode series will be available on Netflix globally on February 27, 2020.
