Netflix Renews The Hunting Wives for Second Season

Netflix has ordered a second season of The Hunting Wives, starring Brittany Snow (X, Pitch Perfect) and Malin Akerman (Billions, Watchmen), from Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment.

The series is created by Rebecca Cutter (Hightown) and based on the best-selling novel by May Cobb. Season one premiered in the U.S. on July 21 and spent five weeks in the global English top ten TV list, amassing over 20 million views during that period.

Season two will be a continuation of the storyline and characters based on the original script. At the start, Sophie and Margo are on the outs, but soon, old secrets and new foes bring them back together.

In addition to Snow and Akerman, the cast features Jamie Ray Newman (Dopesick, Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey), Dermot Mulroney (Anyone But You, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Chicago Fire), Evan Jonigkeit (Henry Johnson, Archive 81, Welcome to Chippendales) and George Ferrier (Sweet Tooth, Juniper).

Cutter serves as showrunner and writer, as well as executive producer. Erwin Stoff is an executive producer for 3 Arts Entertainment and Cobb.

“I’m so excited to write these amazing characters again, and I can’t wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted, batshit crazy ride through Maple Brook,” Cutter said.
