Netflix Renews The Gentlemen

Netflix has ordered a second eight-episode season of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen.

The series, set in the world of Miramax’s The Gentlemen film, sees a man unexpectedly inherit his father’s large country estate only to discover it is actually part of a cannabis empire. Theo James, Kaya Scodelario and Daniel Ings are among the cast members who will reprise their roles.

The series is created by Ritchie, who also writers the scripts with Matthew Read. Ritchie will return to direct the second season, which is expected to begin filming next year.

The Gentlemen is produced by Moonage Pictures for Netflix and Miramax Television. Among the executive producers are Ritchie; Will Gould; Read; Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures; Marc Helwig for Miramax Television; and Ivan Atkinson.
