Netflix Lines Up Psychological Thriller Out of the Dust

Netflix UK has commissioned the six-part psychological thriller Out of the Dust from creator and writer Julie Gearey (Intergalactic, Cuffs, Prisoners’ Wives).

Starring Molly Windsor (Three Girls, Makeup) and Asa Butterfield (Sex Education, Enders Game, Hugo), the series is set in a conservative Christian sect. When Rosie, a dutiful wife and mother, has a fateful encounter with an escaped convict, she embarks on a journey of female emancipation and sexual awakening.

The cast also includes Fra Fee (Lost Boys & Fairies, Hawkeye), Siobhan Finneran (Time, Happy Valley) and Christopher Eccleston (True Detective, Jude).

Out of the Dust is being produced by Double Dutch Productions. Jim Loach (Criminal Record, The Tower, Save Me) and Philippa Langdale (Out There, The Capture, A Discovery of Witches) are directing the series.

Executive producers include Gearey and Double Dutch’s Iona Vrolyk and Myar Craig-Brown. Nick Pitt is a producer.
