Netflix Greenlights Squid Game Season Two

A second season of the hit series Squid Game has been ordered by Netflix, with Hwang Dong-hyuk continuing to direct, write and executive produce.

Dong-hyuk confirmed that Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) will return in season two. When the series debuted last year, it became the biggest show to launch on Netflix, hitting number one in every country where the platform has a top ten list.

Squid Game was also the first Korean series to reach number one in the U.S. The vast majority of the series’ viewership—95 percent—came from outside Korea.
